The surgery on my knee went smoothly, so smoothly that I broke the rule for recovery: get to a physical therapy specialist asap. Here it is Monday evening and I’m not scheduled for therapy other than what I’m doing on my own (following a booklet full of suggested movements). I will see my GP Tuesday afternoon for a follow-up and my surgeon next week for more follow-up. I am currently walking around my apartment without the aid of a walker, and the pain is bearable with the help of an occasional oxycodone. I hope I’m not messing my healing up by not getting professional assistance in stretching and strengthening that knee.
