The Servant's Tale we plotted together. It was darker and harsher than the first, and a lot better. We did point out to our editor that the covers were problematic - the stained glass in the windows and the architecture surrounding them were not exactly period. This novel was nominated for an Edgar. We went to the awards in New York and found the nominating committee didn't realize there were two of us. We made a joke of walking around holding the single name badge between us. We didn't win, but it was a huge thing just getting nominated.

We also discovered during this novel that collaborations can be difficult. The rule that worked: Never have both of us and the manuscript in the room at the same time. That way when you curse the other's writing, she isn't there to hear it.
